Here is a view of the road past our house and on up to the temple located about 600 meters up the hill. This building is an old rice barn we bought and moved from the village and lived in while we were building. lots of fun.. The junnior monks sweep this road clean of leaves every late afternoon. We were up there this morning to welcome back from india several monks that went there to study and meditate. The great thing about the Buddha is that he single handily broke the hindu cast system. He had to leave india to do it.

a 95 y/o farmer from central bhutan.

“I almost did not get that shot because of my laziness and minor effects of altitude differences. I lingered as my fello travellers poured out of the van to greet him. While alone I realized this was the best photo op of the entire tour and got out of the van just in time and then went around the vehicle in the opposite direction to get an uncluttered view of our farmer returning home for lunch. He gave me two mini pears [plum sized] which he had collected in the wild. They may bave been the source of all the pears we see now in captivity.”  –George Daher
